Cafe au Lait #1

$10.00
Sold Out

Cafe au Lait 6-10” blooms 3-4' tall A 1967 heirloom. Queen of dahlias, classic for weddings. Every season we're awed by how her color changes from the purest ecru to a light rosy pink. Consistent all-season bloomer. Floret, a flower farmer in Skaget Valley Washington, says the blooms "resemble pastel silk pillows". We agree and in fact at Lisa Waud's Flower House (2015) that's exactly how they were used. May need staking. I will say that the Cafes did not do well with the weather conditions of 2020 as they do not do well in 90 degree heat.

There are many new varieties of Cafe, such as Cafe Royal and Cafe Twist. While there does seem to be some variations in hue, the original Cafe does just fine in producing variation. See photos!

We've see Cafe tubers selling for as much as $24.95 due to their popularity. Our price - $10
