Achillea millefolium, Common Yarrow

Yarrow belongs to the Aster family and is native to North America, Europe, and Asia. Yarrows foliage is fern-like, fragrant, and delicate. The flower clusters include numerous florets that attract a large number of pollinators. Once established, this perennial will bloom early with a smaller rebloom in the fall, if early blooms are deadheaded.

Historically, used medicinally worldwide for healing wounds, treating colds, headaches, and burns. The mythical Greek character Achilles was reported to have taken it on campaign with his army to treat battle injuries. Hence the genus name Achillea and the old school common names "staunch weed" and "soldier's woundwort".

This is a terrific Insectary plant because it draws beneficial insects to your garden creating balance.

Nancy uses Yarrow in her bouquets. They have very good vase life. The plants sold here are started from seed
