Saving the Monarchs Workshop!

  • Detroit Abloom 242 Manistique Street Detroit, MI, 48215 United States (map)

Come join us at the Detroit Abloom flower Farm and our newly finished pavilion to learn about what you can do to help the Monarchs! We will be launching our Butterfly Nursery that is right next to the pavilion. Get involved! Be a citizen scientist by observing, learning, and perhaps raising Monarch caterpillars on your own or/and with us to become butterflies. It’s no secret that the Monarch population is in trouble, but there are many things we can do to help.

We have an awesome agenda planned. Here are some things we will cover:

  • Learn about the Monarchs life cycle and how it occurs here in Michigan.

  • Learn how to raise Monarchs, what plants they like, and where to get them.

  • Learn what supplies you need to raise Monarchs and where to get them. We will have a variety of rearing cages, floral tubes and miniature vacuum cleaners for sale at cost.

  • Learn how to grow and care for Milkweed plants.

  • Have a walk on the wild side around our gardens to see butterflies and other pollinating insects in action.

  • Stroll through our native gardens and be prepared to be amazed!

Everyone is welcome, this is a family event, bring your kids, bring your Grandma and Grandpa! $15 per adult or per family. Register your
